Microsoft Word & Excel – An Introduction

This free two day workshop gives those without experience in Microsoft Word and Excel the fundamental skills to begin exploring and learning. As bonus material we will also cover additional learning options and how to access funding including scholarships, grants, and student aid.

Day 1 – Word Basics – Sat. July 27 – 10am-12pm

The fundamentals of MS Word

· Creating a new document or opening an existing one

· Using templates

· The MS Word Interface

· Formatting text and paragraphs

· Adding and editing images

· Headers and Footers

· Saving your document and different formats

Bonus: Learning options and how to get the most from your learning style.

Day 2 – Excel Basics –
Sun. July 28 – 10am-12pm

The basics of MS Excel

· Creating a new document or opening and existing one

· Using templates

· The MS Excel Interface

· Formula fundamentals

· Preset Formulas

· Sorting data

· Shortcuts for MS Suite

· Saving your document and different formats
