Microsoft Publisher for Desktop Publishing
PowerPoint by MS for Presentations
Both Microsoft Publisher and PowerPoint are powerful but often under rated tools in the office environment. Publisher is a desktop publishing tool. Although nowhere near as powerful as industry heavy hitters such as Adobe InDesign, it’s also much more intuitive, less expensive, and readily available. Anyone with the fundamentals of MS Word with quickly recognize the layout and functionality of Publisher but will also find many ways that it makes creation of flyers, invitations, and other graphic materials quick and easy.
Although there are about a million different slide animation applications these days, PowerPoint is where most of it began. Getting some basic skills in PowerPoint will allow you to build on that in PowerPoint or even transfer those skills to a different presentation program. If you are looking to create engaging presentations, PowerPoint is the way to start.
Academy of Learning Westshore offers a variety of programs, certificates, and diplomas that include Publisher and/or PowerPoint training from beginner through to Super Power User. Just some include:
Note: It is recommended that attendees have an understanding of MS Word for this workshop along with fundamental computer skills.
